KS1 (Year 1-2)

  • Number: Understanding numbers, counting, and basic arithmetic operations.
  • Shape and Space: Recognising and describing basic shapes and patterns.
  • Measurement: Introducing basic measurement concepts, such as length and weight.
  • Data Handling: Collecting and interpreting simple data.

 

Key skills include:

  • 1. Counting and basic addition/subtraction
  • 2. Basic fractions (halves and quarters)
  • 3. Shapes and patterns
  • 4. Telling time (analogue clocks)

 

KS2 (Year 3-6)

  • Number: Developing arithmetic skills, including multiplication and division.
  • Fractions, Decimals, and Percentages*: Understanding and working with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Geometry: Exploring properties of shapes, angles, and coordinates.
  • Measurement: Developing measurement skills, including perimeter, area, and volume.
  • Statistics: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.

 

Key skills include:

1. Multiplication tables

2. Long multiplication and division

3. Fractions, decimals, and percentages

4. Geometry and measurement

5. Data analysis and interpretation
